Put some cash down at my local Long & McQuade and ordered the Terror Bass 500 on Tuesday. They said it's gonna be in on the 23rd at the earliest. I'm GASing for this amp so badly, I've been cruising this thread every night after work and band practice which isn't helping much!

American musical supply says they expect the terror 1000 on 6-10-11 and you can pay in five payments of 200$. I already had a terror 500 and sold it because I truly don't mind lugging around my AD 200b to gigs and then I have an Ampeg B 25B for practice. Honestly can't do without all tube and the terror really doesn't come close. I'm not really sure if I understand the need for a 1000 watt terror. I guess whoever is interested must be playing some really big venues or have 3 guitarists in their band cranking 100 watt rigs.

Haha, it was a hard choice for me to decide between the two. The 1000 is only a bit more expensive than the 500. I went with the 500, as I thought I'd get more gain out of less wattage. I play with a loud drummer and two angry guitars - I haven't seen the terror go past 2 on the volume knob. I can't even imagine the 1000!

Possibly a dumb question, but if one of my cabs (OBC115) has both 1/4" and speakon inputs, and another cab (isobaric410) only has speakon inputs, can I plug the 1/4" speaker cable into the 115, and connect the 115 directly to the isobaric with the speakon?
I have a tube head with only a 1/4" speaker cable jack.

Yes, you can do that. Just remember to use the correct impedance tap on the tube head (presuming both are 8-ohm cabs, that would be the 4-ohm tap).

Has anyone else been following the TBer who has been through 5 Terror 500s and each one has had cutting out problems when pushed or played loud? I'm really curious what the problem could be, and maybe the Orange Club members have some idea. Mine has worked fine from day 1, through lots of gigging at various temps, inside and outside, etc. My curiosity has definitely been getting to me as to what's causing his continuing problem.

Count me in! Terror bass and a OBC-115.

This little set up DESTROYS my old GK 550 4x10/2x12 stack.
I have two gigs this weekend, then I'll decide if I want to add a second cab to this setup or not. I love it how it is right now though. It punches hard!

I have (SP4x10 + Bass Terror) I DI out during practice to a board we record from - and when playing out DI into the PA -Has anyone developed a work around to the problem of volume control on the Terror Balanced output jack?

Issue - Volume levels to the speakers were less than the balanced Output so in order to use the Amp for recording (love the tone) I had to lower volume levels so that it was tough to hear me on the room... Anyone else have this issue and or how did you resolve?

The best way for me to describe it would be the Terror has a more organic sound that sounds like my bass. The GK had a more layered tone that covered up the basses sound alone. The Orange just sounds more natural and less processed. Definitely a warmer tone than the GK.
