That's kinda' what I suspected, but aren't those pickups generally associated with pre-Gibson basses?

Ditto on the paint... this one needs a rescue. ;)

Well, I thought if it didn't get crazy I'd put a bid in just for a rescue project on the cheap, but that poor thing went for $627 and change... but shoot, I paid less than that for my Growler 5-string in very good condition. :confused:

That is a Toby Pro IV, and in a color I've never seen. I have a pair of Toby Pro V's in natural, and red washed ones show up every now and then, but that teal wash is SWEET!

Don't even tell me how much you had to give for it... I'll be even more jealous! :roflmao:

And they are fantastic basses too. The output is a little low (by comparison to say a pre-Nashville Tobias, or Growler) but if you just boost both eq bands, you can tweak the amp to taste.

Thanks ....it desperately needs new strings, and i need to finish setting it up. It feels pretty good so far. And seems well balanced, not too heavy at all...though I haven't weighed it yet.

Anyway, even though it's only Day 1, it seems like a nicely made instrument.

They tend to be a little heavy for folks used to 7-8 lbs Fenders, but they balance extremely well. I have Pyramid Gold flats on one of mine, and TI Jazz Rounds on the other.

*I'm happy if not eager to be corrected on this, but I believe these have Tobias-branded Delano pickups. (I remember reading that here somewhere) Google MusicYo.

I really dug the one I had. I was borrowing it from a friend for about 10 years and gave it back to him when I got my Pre-gib Classic 4... They are great basses though. Hey, if you do ever decide to sell it though be sure to drop me a line!
