Something isn't right there. Should be two 1/4" brass Hex nuts extending into the truss adjustment cavity. Since those aren't there, you may be missing some pretty significant hardware. First thing I would want to check is whether or not you can see threads on the ends of the two truss rods. That's a start. I suspect you at least need the two 1/4" long nuts and possibly a brass tightening plate. No bueno.my new TobiasView attachment 2769411

I found out that the previous owner have replaced the fingerboard AND the truss rods......and weirdly the new rods are illogically deep inside....Tobias Basic #4864View attachment 2773061
