I purchased a TFR a couple of months ago. Sign me up.
I haven't used pedals a great deal and am still learning when they are appropriate. If you haven't seen it yet take a look at Fuzz Wars from pedalsandeffects.com.
The video with Scott Shriner was the main reason I purchased a TFR.

I'm now really gassing for Phat Phuk B..
I want just a tad of grit, and I'd like to boost my signal and use it as an always on thingy.
I like my VMT a lot, but I can only boost the drive signal so I can't really blend the clean one the way I'd want to if I wanna go above unity gain.
Man I'd really wanna compare those two.

Just pulled a trigger on a Phat Phuk B!
I think my VMT is going, it's a fantastic drive pedal, but I'm looking for something even milder and a bit more transparent, and to boost my pedalboard signal a bit.
VMT worked wonders with my GK amp. With warmer amp that I'm using now, it's a bit too muffled and I feel the lack of highs now.

That's why I ultimately went with the Phat Phuk B3K combo...the VMT was a little too tame in the highs for me. I'm sure you'll love the Phatty. Be sure to mess with the internal trim pot to find the spot you like best!
It's really all about pairing the gear.
Now I finally found my tone with the Ashdown ABM 900, I really dig it. I just wanna add some strength to my overall signal, nothing too severe. Just to pump it up a bit for my always on tone.
With GK, I was going for a more tone coloring scheme to get it to sound more vintage, no need for that with Ashdown.
Speaking of pairings, the Mercy Phuk into a VMT is about the best drive sound I've ever heard. They complement each other amazingly.
How bout Phat Phuck B and VMT pairing?
I'm keeping my VMT, but my TFR has to go then.
I found I like the dirt of my VMT when cranked. A lot!
So, VMT before PPB or vice versa?

I do love my Phat Phuk, and I really love my VMT. And they do go together really well.
Definitely VMT > PPB.
The PPB slays when running other dirt pedals into it.
Oh, and be sure to play around with the trimpot on the inside to tailor the PPB to your rig. Very important!
No sound clips, and I've never owned a Phat Phuk B to compare. From what I can tell, the Phat is more toward the transparent side compared to the Mercy, which is very much colored and raucous. It lacks the booming low end that I like, which the VMT provides. The VMT lacks the crisp, crunchy highs, which the Mercy has in spades without being squeally/screamy/overly harsh like a lot of drives. I expect the Phat Phuk would cover that high end; the Mercy just has a unique raucous drive crunch flavor.
Count me in! I have a Phat Phuk B and a Tall Font Russian, and I should get a Silver Phat Phuk this week for my guitar.
