Actually, no, you were clear.
I did that because I edited out the part where you said all the builders you know do the planning. I know of some that don't, or at least haven't always, so I couldn't literally +1 what you said.
That said, the times I've seen NAMM basses impact customer orders, I've always felt it was a huge mistake on the builder's part and should never happen. You HAVE to take care of customers, but you ALSO have to make sure you have the right stuff at NAMM.
The key is, as we're both really saying, planning. It's critical.
