I put 25% down on a Legacy Elite 4 in January of 2020. I'm not looking for tweaked out customization, just going to pick the top wood in person (some day). Is it possible the higher percent were for more unique, one-off builds?

Ha, I've tried nearly every trick in the book....except for that one! Time to write an email and prep it for sending!
I put 25% down on mine back in June 2017. I don't know that it's unique, but it's highly customized: headless Sonus 519, 34" scale, custom pickup and wiring scheme.
My local Zon dealer told me 50% down, period, but I didn't order through him because he said all custom orders had to go direct through Zon. So I requested 25% down from Zon, and when he agreed, I just figured my timing was lucky. But given the final price of the order, I might not have pulled the trigger otherwise.

My matte black custom Sonus was based on the BG4 -- appearance-wise, I mean.
I was REALLY tempted to order a headless BG5, but wasn't sure about the pickups and electronics. I'm thrilled with my build, but part of me wishes I'd taken the chance. Onboard distortion is such a great idea.Very cool that you ordered gloss black. I believe Billy's BG4 is gloss, even though the default for his sig model is matte. Best of luck, I hope you get it soon!
If it is fretted, than, a fretless 5/1! I have some experience with this.
Joe converted my fretted 5/1 into what I called a 5/1.2
I installed the Hipshot bridge.
This bass has a special electronics package.

Same overall size as the previous Seymour Duncans. At first, Joe wasn't sure the second pickup would even fit in between the original one and the end of the neck. Worked out quite well.
Ooo! I have one of those! Was going to convert it to an 8-string, but chickened out when I realized that I'd have to fill and then re-drill all holes in the headstock.
It's a good sounding bass, but not a Zon.
Okay so I had the same thing happened again like it did on my first Zon Legacy Elite 6 in 2014, the D,G,C intonation screws are too short to be able to set proper intonation so I had Bass San Diego the dealer at the time get me longer screws from Joe Zon, so that helped fix the problem so now I having the exact same issue with my new Zon Legacy Elite 6 so I went to 3 different hardware stores Lowes, Home Depot, ACE Hardware nobody carries these type of intonation screws at all so I left Joe Zon and email and he wrote back and said he was going to check in to it for me but with everything going on with the fires & Covid Joe has a lot to deal with so I'm trying to find out here on TalkBass if anybody knows where to get these type of intonation screws that are on all Zon bass bridges or even what size they are?

So, I’m curious to know if you changed the strings from the type/gauge that came on the bass?
