Well, he specifically used the word relief and then said the measurement of 0.03" was too high... I think it was pretty safe to assume he was talking about actual relief like he said he was and not string height.

Wow- I said nothing about "my expertise" or your question being unreasonable. I just gave an extra suggestion in the case that he was was talking about something else- some say relief but actually check string height, so it's always worth mentioning. If he was actually talking about relief, as he was in the end, then it was something he would have already checked and he could have ingored the suggestion. I was just trying to be helpful, and you questioned why I would mention it, thus I explained, as I wasn't making any assumptions about his initial statement. That's not defensive.
Your last line is really childish and completely unnecessary. I never said anything to suggest I disagreed with you, or that I had some particular authority on anything. We're just trying to make sure he's exhausted his options before returning a bass, which it sounds like he has.
