Papersen,

I had that 4 string fretless you own custom built, it was originally fretted, I had the optional 519 electronics installed to match the 519 I had at the time.

Very nice top on that one and the black hardware really sets it off.

I only have one Zon 519 left out of all the ones I owned, I keep wanting to sell it but it's the best sounding bass I've owned yet, everytime I post FS I take it down.

Take care man,

Mike

Didn`t know you were the original owner Mike.
It`s a terrific bass that makes me wanna play fretless a lot.

BTW, did you have the chance to play it thru your Epi410UL ?
I`ve finally found one and should be receiving it sometime later.

i used this pic in the amps forums but oh well...

I got my Sonus T5 used. Its a Transparent Black. i actually don't really like black, but i saw a nice deal and jumped on it. I love playing on this thing, more than anything else. The neck is to die for, and i dont even have the truss rod.

Only problem is that the bass was draining batteries way too quick. I opened her up, and saw that the previous owner had put in a 2-terminal jack, so battery was always on. Terrible! So, i put in a new Switchcraft 3-terminal and all is well.

Joe Zon also sent me a used volume knob that had solder residue on it, when I needed a replacement pot (the original one got scratchy) and it also was a different model, that turned less smoothly. ...and then charged me $20 for it! terrible as well. So that bothers me a little, but my volume knob stays all the way up most of the time anyway.

Still love the bass. Wish it were a natural finish with black hardware, but doesn't mean I'm letting this one go anytime soon.

Man, I've been GAS free for months and then I had to play a Sonus Custom Special fretless 5, with the soapbars.
Wow. Simply freakin' wow.
What a great feeling, great sounding instrument.

Ha, me too. I still miss that 5/2 ... that bass killed!

I`m starting to feel guilty: Pickles, AJ Brown, Pbass78 and stroy05 are out of the club, cause of my fault ...

Sorry guys :smug:

BTW, track #3 in this link was recently recorded with the Sonus 5/2. It`s not the way it "usually" sounds, but ended up interesting.

Don't feel guilty ... you've got a sweet Zon stable there. I love Zons but the older ones have too much relief for me (I've had 4 of them -- all sounded amazing -- couldn't set any of them up the way I like). I need to pony up and get one of the new ones with a truss rod.

Edit: Cool track!
