The problem is, twelve-years olds are unreasonable, by nature. Thus, I expect to receive flak for my own, just as valid as others, here, opinion.

As for the post, yeah, she is a very accomplished Bass player.

Things have really changed in the Bass Musician world. Today, bass players have more than four strings, have pedal boards larger, and consume more power, than most jet aircraft, cab/amps are being displaced by DI, and people would rather play leads, than anchor the pocket, with the drummer.

The lines between Guitarist, and Bass player, continue to blur.

Gender aside, She's Japanese and plays in a blues band. That's enough to impress me.

Japanese people really appreciate music and when they play they really get into nailing the nuance of a tune.

We had some ladies from Japan on holidays over here, they played drums, keys and vocals and we got together for a few shows just for fun. Man these girls can play! and sing, everything from blues to rock and even country if you ask.

It was a lot of fun, very enjoyable and we traded a lot of stories. Japanese audiences are some of the most appreciative in the world and they have great respect for performers, they treat you like you're a star because they figure it took time and dedication to learn how to play an instrument and they really appreciate what you play.

I think it's called a shamisen, it's like a banjo of sorts and the sound reminded me of Bela Fleck.

Oh to be a contrarian but I don't believe this is a good version of "What Is Hip " - Can these women play - of course but that doesn't make this a good cover version - a good interpretation or " homage " to that particular song - that's how I feel about it - of course as many before me here have stated YMMV as it seems to be a pretty popular interpretation . ... K-pop emcompasses a diverse range of genres of music, ranging from jazz fusion, R&B, electronic, funk, soul, disco, hip-hop, pop, rock, to traditional ethnic, so you can't just lump all K-pop together like that. There are tons of K-pop songs that sound nothing like each other in style.
