Try this test... listen to just the audio track.

There is no way I would be dropping this into a playlist for any casual listening. The recording sounds frantic.

This is just my opinion and I am not saying that these are not talented musicians. I just don't think the track holds up when reviewed objectively.

Cool spin on a classic funk tune and very well played, but I prefer the 2 finger approach instead of thumbing it. Lacks the depth and soul slapping.

It's probably been said more than once, but It looks like a pickguard from alperious. I've got one from him on my thunderbird, he's based out of turkey and makes some really cool stuff. Also, he's a super nice guy to deal with.

After all the favorable comments about the OP's video of " What Is Hip " - I went back to listen to the album version by Tower of Power . To my ears / taste etc - I am not gaining any appreciation for this new version - To me it has none of the funk nor is it anywhere near as tight as TOP was - certainly , on the album version . Again though , YMMV - just my 2 cents .... Kelly
