Old Bands that Still Have 'It'

I saw 'The Crazy World of Arthur Brown' recently. Given that I don't think any of the current band other than Arthur Brown himself were alive when the hit 'Fire' came out in 1968 perhaps it is not an old band, per se, but Arthur still has it, the band was as tight as a tight thing, and all very good (extra points for the drummer also doing the BVs), the new material is entirely credible and it wasn't at all a parody.

Sadly no more fire helmet after he set fire to a band member a few years ago. But they did 'Fire' and it rocked. Arthur Brown still has a huge vocal range from very deep notes all the way up to the required high pitched almost screams. At 71.

I suspect the definition is probably "Bands that were established or old when I was growing up and I am over 30"

On the country side he's not real old but hit big in the early 90s, Neal McCoy still puts on one of the best overall shows I have seen.

Jimmy buffett still puts on a pretty fine show as well.

ZZ Top is still awesome live.

I know there's a bit of a stigma on here regarding Lynyrd Skynyrd, but they put on an amazing show every night.

Bruce Springsteen.

Tom Petty.

George Strait. Well as much as he ever did, he's never been a high energy performer, just great songs and great musicianship. But he's consistent.

Oh, and I opened for Judas Priest a few years ago, and they absolutely KILLED it! They haven't lost a single step. It was actually supposed to be their last show ever, but I think they went back on that like everyone else.

One of Steve Harris's favorite bands Golden Earring also still has it. I saw them less than a year ago.

Saw Maiden about 4 years ago also, and while I'm more a fan Paul era (self titled and Killers) Bruce absolutely killed it! Guy is a maniac, running around like a madman but never missing a note!

Stones

I saw the stones a few years back when they were in LA at Dodger Stadium. Mick Jagger has more energy than a 25 year old and runs around one of the biggest stages I ever seen for the whole show. My wife was worried he was going to drop dead of a heart attack. The guy stays in good shape.

They put on a cracking show last year (hyde park I think). Only saw the recording but they were good enough for me to watch the whole 2 hours or so.
