Hey Christle, I checked your website and noticed you're from Steinbach. lol So the whole point of me writing this is to ask if did you bought those Cirri from St. John's Music on Portage, If so, then I've played the ash 4 stringer for sure, and maybe the 5 too. I can vouch for both of those, great playability and sound, who am I kidding.... great basses all around!! Here's mine from the same shop, same deal as your 4, custom ordered for NAMM, sold as a demo:
All those Cirruses are just beautiful. Given their price, these are more than likely what I get whenever I have the cash to spare. I have absolutely no need for another bass except for a fretless, but those Peaveys are flatout gorgeous.

In my small collection I have a black 1985 Peavey Patriot. Not a great tonal range, but I really enjoy every time I pick it up and put it through its paces. I also like the fact that there doesn't seem to be many of them around. Anyone else owned or played one?
My Foundation my be my best bass of all. I would play it more if it were a five. That said, I may soon get rid of my Millennium - for a Cirrus V! We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

this was an ebay deal, and i don't think i could be much happier...the bass is all original, in really good shape (just a little belt mojo on the back) and came with the original case, manual and warranty card, and also a brand new set of fender taperwounds (in the package)...i put on a fresh set of light gauge d'addario rounds and was surprised to find that it sounded good even with the fresh strings (i hate that fresh string sound)...
tone controls are as versatile as advertised, the construction is rock-solid (people aren't kidding when they say these are "built like a tank") and it is a joy to play...feels a lot like a p-bass in terms of the body and neck, and really makes some wonderful noise when played aggressively
few other misc. things that may be handy for prospective owners:
the black stuff on the pickups is rubber (smooth though, not sticky) and makes an ideal playing surface/ramp, especially the bridge pickup, which is real close to the strings...the rubber strips are spaced just right for your fingertips
if you need the special tool to adjust the relief, it is available from peavey's parts department (1-877-732-8391, ext. #1386, item #75031006 ....dunno the cost yet because i haven't ordered one, but i read it was about $5)...the manual says the part number is #75031001, not sure what the difference is, maybe it was superceded
if you want to know the date your T-40 (or any other peavey equipment) was made, just post the serial number on http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=246407 (ask for A.J.)
the later models are lighter, due to the more deeply cut body contours...they are immediately identifiable by the little chrome rail in the centers of the black rubber part of the pickups
apparently those fancy darkstar pickups are a direct replacement
some other T-40 threads i found while doing my homework (had been GASsing for a T-40 for a few months, thanks to you guys)...lots of good info here on using the tone controls, which work a little differently from everything else on the planet (big special thanks to BuffaloBass and Eilif for sharing their secrets)

That's a beauty! It couldn't have looked much better new from the factory. I would love to play one. I know Hub sounded great with his in a Roots video.

i really love the grain on this one (looks a little washed out in the pic because the sun was so bright), and of course maple boards always make me all tingly inside...don't think i will ever sell it, but if they ever develop true collector value, i am all set (because i know you love ebay, check this out...dunno if it was a fluke or what, but quite surprising either way)
