hahaha. well i appreciate it still smurf. it's just the pog.....IMHO is an incredible effect. absolutely stellar. for a pog2 to come out i hope it just stays at the same level or exceeds what the pog can do. the whole BMS vs XO BMS leaves me wondering what is actually better when it comes to old school vs XO. the only XO pedal that exceeds it original format is the small stone. there are many debates on the BMS still

+1. It's about 95% of the way there in terms of being the old one, but the 9V and smaller size make up for the 5% many times over IMO. I'm sure there are is very small group of people who will actually notice a difference, and beyond that, an even smaller group who will cling to the old version until they're buried beneath six feet of dirt.

I borrowed one indefinately for about 4 months (which I supposed makes it definite) before the XO came out and bought my own. Used it live/jams/home demos etc.

At one point I had a fetish for huge pedals. Had the trapezoid Qtron, Muffn, Roland Jet Phase, Fender Fuzz Wah (still have that massive beast) and the trapezoid BMS all at once. So I'm not one to pick size over tone.

On a second thought, I'll probably be keeping my microPOG and use the Lazy Sprocket as a volume sweller. Modular is probably better in most cases, and it seems so in this case, too. So unless reviews come out proving that the sounds on the POG2 completely devastate the ones in the microPOG, I'll stick to the micro. If I ever want to upgrade, it'll probably be towards the Pitchfactor instead.

Is it wrong that I imagined someone lying in the ground, almost completely covered by distortion and fuzz pedals?

The people that went Micro POG instead of the big POG really missed out on having that LPF slider. I'm anxiously awaiting to hear if the LPF on the POG2 is the same or if they've changed it at all. The filter makes the upper octaves sound SO much better. It just sucks all the tweety chirpiness right out.

The only mojo I remember from my big box BMS was a little bit more warmth, but I think some of it came from tone suck...and to be honest, the settings on from my big box translated over to the XO pretty easily. I just needed to move some of the sliders a bit.

I will take the XO BMS ANY DAY over the big box.

The POG2 looks promising!
