OMG, OMFG....Sick Deal.....NBD

So, I went to Guitar Center last night to get a box for a bass I sold on ebay, and of course, I went inside to look around also. My friend that works there goes upstairs to get me a box while I go rummaging around in the bass section. This being Guitar Center, they have their normal selection of basses there. I walk around for about 15 minutes and then I see it. The first thing that catches my eye is the SALE tag on her. I pick it up and give it a thorough look over to see if I can find anything wrong with it. After a good 10 minute look over, I come to the conclusion that she is pristine. My friend comes over and I ask him what the deal is with this bass. He looks it up in the computer and comes back with "Man, the case is included with it for that price".

By now you all are probably saying "get on with it and tell us what the big deal is all about." Well here's the big deal.

What I found was a BRAND NEW 2008 FENDER AMERICAN JAZZ BASS for................are you all ready for this............................$649.99 with the brand new Fender flight case. No,you didn't read that wrong, I did say $649.99. After tax it cost me a grand total of $670.00 out the door.

To prove it, here are the pics.

On their last blowout, they had a MIM Jazz Sunburst for $299, but after the tech straightend the neck, we found a raised fret. Really high! He said a fret dress would be $100, and my own tech would probably do it for $25, but I passed on it. Kind of kicking myself, but figure there's another out there for me. Kind of waiting to see what's new with the 2009's, also.
Nice job and good score for you.
Enjoy.

i see a flip in the near future

congrats,,, make some money on that jazz

I don't know. These new Fenders have something that the previous ones didn't have. I love the feel of the new finish they're using on the necks. Plus, I love that the fretboard and headstock are gloss, I think it looks nicer. I've said this before about other basses, but I truely think that this one will be sticking around for a while.
