On reviving Zombie Threads.

I have to admit to resurrecting a zombie thread. I recently got an M87 'pressor and Sansamp PBDDI and read some old settings threads and revived one. As these pedals are still relevant it doesn't hurt to give others a chance to read up too. There is a LOT of great information hidden in the TB vault! In fact, I found a Geddy Lee sound for my PBDDI really quickly by adapting someone's settings.

Sometimes an old thread is relevant and interesting to revive. But it's always... fun... to see the folks that ask if something is still for sale seven years later, or who give advice that someone should fire their guitarist ten years later, or whatever.

Ok, I'll give you those two, but that doesn't mean folks have to be nasty about it. As I recall, most of those that I've seen are new members that are still getting use to the depth of info here.

I have no objection to reviving zombie threads whenever the issue discussed is still relevant. My personal pet peeve is people posting without reading any of the previous posts, and then saying things that they wouldn't have bothered to say if they had -- such as giving advice when the OP has clearly already made a decision and moved on. People resurrecting Zombie threads are often (though certainly not always) guilty of this: If they had read any of the previous posts, they would know that the item has already been sold, or the issue in question resolved, etc. This happens with zombie threads a lot because in many cases the reason why the thread went dead in the first place is that the item was sold or the issue resolved, etc., so there was nothing useful left for anyone to add. Just my $0.02 worth.

I've been on forums where you got ripped a new one when you opened a thread that was kind of like anything ever discussed previously. I've also seen where people complain about reviving old threads.

I'm with @mellowinman on this one. People need to take things a bit less seriously.

Really. If the same things weren't rehashed on a regular basis, TB would be pretty dead. Not zombie-dead, really dead.
