If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine. It was only a flesh wound.
Come back here, I'll bite your legs off.It was only a flesh wound.
Thank you.I've always wondered about reviving them with a different question that still remotely is related to the original subject. There's been quite a few times google has lead me here but the thread didn't quite answer my question. I know they hate reviving Zombie threads here but at other forums, it's preferred over starting a new thread
Epic, Mellow. Good laugh. Thanks.
What TalkBass needs is a reminder setup. I'd be setting a reminder for next year to find this thread and revive it...

LOL, ok maybe not a full year yet...but still no reminders on TB either.
Thank you to @sissy kathy for liking my original post, and therefore reminding me that I wanted to do Voodoo practice on this thread!

Synth pedals?I didn't make it a zombie thread and left it dead, but quite awhile ago I found a thread from 2004 or 2005 comparing the Deep Impact and the (then new) Boss SYB-5 and the general consensus of the thread was that the SYB-5 was better than the Deep Impact
I wish I could find that thread again.
The ironic thing is I fully expect this to turn into a zombie thread itself.
Sometimes you see people do what you suggested -- e.g., "I realize this is a zombie thread, but it seems worth reviving anyway...." -- but I think most of the time people just don't notice the dates. I know I try to pay attention to dates, especially if the question or issue posed by the OP is clearly time-sensitive, but even when trying I sometimes overlook it and wind up inadvertently creating a zombie.I hate when people bring back old threads without alerting anyone to the fact that it's an old thread. Even if it's only a couple of years old. They should give some sort of heads up.
And maybe change the color of the thread title if the post is made.Sometimes you see people do what you suggested -- e.g., "I realize this is a zombie thread, but it seems worth reviving anyway...." -- but I think most of the time people just don't notice the dates. Here's an idea I once had that I mentioned in another thread somewhere, but don't think I ever actually posted in the "Suggestions" forum: What if threads that have been inactive for at least [X period of time] were somehow flagged to call attention to the fact? For example, suppose that when you clicked on "Reply" in a post, or "Post Reply" at the bottom of the page, a warning message popped up saying something along the lines of, "Note: This thread has been inactive for [X amount of time]. Are you sure you wish to continue?" We could debate how long a thread has to be inactive before such a message appeared -- 6 months? a year? -- but something like this would call attention to the fact so the prospective poster could decide whether or not to post. They might well decide to do so, of course, which would be fine, but this would then encourage them to preface their remarks by acknowledging that they have chosen to bring a dead thread back to life. What do you think?
"MatteR gray"?And maybe change the color of the thread title if the post is made.
