Once again no Response to Band Text.

I guess the originals band I was in is over.

The other guitar player sent out a text asking if everyone was ready to start up again (after about a two month "hiatus" set up because we were having trouble getting members to agree to rehearse, or even communicate) and one band member, the one who never texted before, didn't text this time either. I've been in several bands with this guy over the years and his complete breakdown in communication is strange and disconcerting. I guess in this era that we're living in common courtesy is not to be expected. Oh, well. However, this is one of those things I won't forget.

No response is actually a response, and it sounds like you've got yours.

Personally, I wouldn't spend too much energy trying to figure out the "why" of it; Rather, I'd just take it at face value and move on.

The end result is going to be the same regardless. By just accepting it, you spare yourself a lot of unnecessary grief.

You have a choice to not let that kind of s**t move in and rattle around in your head.

Acceptance frees up your energy to be spent in more positive/productive areas & projects.

Great post. Thanks.

The problem is that we had/have a second batch of songs, a second CD's worth, really, that we never really got around to recording due to various factors. It seems a shame to not try to pursue that in some way.

All the more reason to let it go. That kind of thing can really fester otherwise.

Sometimes it's good to look back and ask myself if there's anything *I* could've done differently from the short-list of things I've actually got any control over: mostly my own actions and attitudes, so I can help avoid these kinds of things in the future. Usually there is, though sometimes it's just a matter of early recognition of certain types of behavior in others, and knowing when it might be time to move on before investing too much time.

Very good post, Pocket Dave.

I couldn’t have said it better.

There's a scene in the movie "A Bronx Tale" where Sonny, the area mob boss, counsels a young associate who is being ignored/ghosted by a guy he loaned $20 to. The borrower refuses to pay the associate back and refuses to even speak to him about it, running away when approached.

Sonny's reasoning? "Look at this way, it cost you $20 to get rid of him. He's never gonna bother you again. He's out of your life, for $20. You got off cheap."

In your situation, it sounds like you've ridded yourself of a flake who isn't interested in making even the slightest effort and it didn't cost you a buck.
