Once again, Rush dissapoints

Rush is my favorite band by far...but they are damned if they do and damned if they dont when it comes to the setlist. Saw them on Clockwork Angels tour and the guy standing next to me left when they started playing deeper cuts like Grand Designs, and the new stuff. I know it was one guy, but there are tons of casual fans that only want to hear the popular songs, especially since this could be the last big tour. I would love it if they went all deep cuts, Ive heard Tom Sawyer, Spirit, etc a million times, but Im a superfan, I actually know the obscure songs, but lots of people dont.

Yeah I read complaints from people when Rush played stuff from the Clockwork Angels album...on the Clockwork Angels tour! SMDH

Whatever they play is fine by me; I love the new stuff and most of the 80s stuff. Even the stuff I didn't care for much on the album sounds better live anyway.

This is the first I've heard of Peart having issues playing; that really sucks if true. Hopefully he'll be able to do some studio stuff going forward.

And I love Jacob's Ladder, so I'll be looking forward to it. I missed the tour where they did Natural Science, unfortunately, but I did get to see them do the whole Moving Pictures album, including Camera Eye.

I said to my bandmates the other day, who are all huge Rush fans too, that while I love them and will be sad when they dont tour anymore, but between Geddy's live singing, his buzzsaw scooped bass tone, and half tempo songs, I would rather they went out before it gets any worse. IMO and YMMV of course.

I have always enjoy seeing Rush play live. I have seen almost every tour since Moving Pictures and have never been disappointed in the show and would even say that on the last few tours, the boys have never sounded better. I can't think of another rock act that puts on a better show, or shows a higher level of musicianship.

Let's just not bring up the last time I saw Yes. Now that was just sad,

I'm a huge Rush fan, but must admit I don't care much for Vapor Trails, Snakes and Arrows, or Clockwork Angels. That said, I must say that I still really enjoyed hearing songs from those albums in concert. It was cool getting to hear a piece of music I wasn't familiar with and seeing the boys perform them with such precision and wonderful stage theatrics.

I'm a jam band fan. I find it utterly hilarious that anyone would know a set list ahead of time for a show much less a tour. smfh

If I'm going to see Lesh and Scofield pretend to be the Dead, I don't really care what they play either. At a jam band show (and I've been to many) the crowd is just there...freewheeling, bsing and grooving along. It's completely and entirely different from seeing a "radio" band such as Rush perform as far as what one can or even should expect. That goes for audience and band alike.

In my opinion, RUSH playing anything is better than most bands could ever hope for. I've been lucky enough to see them once and I have tickets for another show, which will probably be my last chance to enjoy them. Sure, I'd love to hear Cygnus X-1 or The Necromancer. Am I going to whine and moan about how their playing the 'hits'? No, I'm going to bob my head and have the biggest grin possible on my face as I watch the best (in my opinion) band in the world do what they do.

OP-- if I talk to Geddy, I'll mention that you were unhappy with a "leaked" partial setlist in a thread posted several days before the first show of the 2015 tour (and therefore, before public knowledge of the complete, actual, factual setlist). I'm sure he'll be crushed and deeply apologetic, and will certainly be glad you spent your ticket money on a pedal that seems more than apropos.
Then again, he might wonder what the hell "dissapointed" is, and if it's anything like "disappointed."

I loved Pearl Jam for many years, finally got to see them in 2006.

They decided they were bored for this one show and played obscure B sides and covers. Only played one hit.

That was my one chance to see them. They decided to entertain themselves that night.

They lost me that night, never again,no more CD purchases.

Bands need to understand that people in the audience want to hear songs that made them famous. If they can't do that,then advertise the show as a "No Hits, just the misses" tour and see how they sell.....
