Onion rings and SB-2s.

I agree with that. Completely. The whopper is alright I guess with a coupon for less than competition. But the real deal is the onion rings exclusively for the zesty sauce. Which is basically a horseradish and mayo mix, probably some ketchup for colour and flavour. The actual onion rings, I suspect, are just dough or cornstarch with onion powder - or something similar.

FWIW I've never wished for a tone knob on my SB-2. Then again I barely use the tone knobs on my others. I use the tone knob on my diamond compressor a bit though.

If your onion jones is calling, but there's no place that does decent rings nearby, you can always try a colonial era fav - a whole roasted onion. The recipe is simple. Stick a whole onion (leave the skin on it) on a pan in the oven at 350 for about 30-40 minutes. Take it out, peel back an end a bit and squeeze the now cooked onion onto a plate. Add a little salt if you like and have at it

Found out about it watching this guy's colonial living YT channel.



We gave it a try and it's since become a family favorite side dish.

IMHO - yellow for rings. They have enough flavor tone to complement and hold up to the batter. And the rings are a more manageable size when cooking. Less broken rings. And it's far easier to rationalize eating a lot of them since "they're small." ;):thumbsup:

They go well with a side of SB-2. :)

Best for metal too! :cool:

There used to be a diner on Huntington Drive in Alhambra, CA (for 70years or so, but it recently moved to South Pasadena) called "Twoheys" When you order onion rings, the standard order is about 2lbs. Amazing.

Moses graphite aftermarket necks. Fits my hand nicely. They were already installed on the used SB-2's I bought

I know it very well. Grew up in the west San Gabriel Valley and northeast L.A., and went to late elementary school through high school in Alhambra.

In fact, my parents got engaged at Twohey's.

Not sure about the binding on the Seafoam Green one, why did they build it that way?. How does it go around the body countour? More photos please of that one showing the top edge. Nice collection though. i like the balance between maple and rosewood, and dot and block inlays.
