Off course fans are no problem live... I was talking bedroom... In my humble opinion it's a big con, because the amp doesn't need a fan at those volume levels.

like you I was a bit surprised by the fan noise. I took the inner metal shield off and stuck the fan back on with velcro, and that made it a lot quieter. There is still plenty of air rushing over the electrics. I have been using it that way for quite some time now with no problems. It is a great little amp!

Wow! Despite my profligate praise of the Terror, I've never played or really researched Orange cabs. What models are pictured, and what do you think of them? I'm a fellow L2K enthusiast, and love my Bag End 2x12, but damn if it isn't heavy and a pain to move. Those look very old-man friendly.

Those cabs are the iso212 under, and the iso210 over.
They're heavy for their size, and don't have horns, so, they're "dark-sh," but, they work very well with that head.

Being an Ampeg man for years ( and still am ) This amp rocks my Ampeg cabs just fine. I usually carry the Terror as a back-up to my SVT 3 Pro, and I find myself using the Orange more and more. It's just a great little amp and saves my back too!

The SP210 and SP212 are small, light-ish, and put out a lot for their size.
They're dark-ish overall.
If you like that tone, they're very nice.

Is there any danger that while using TB with 810 Ampeg, the TB could rattle and fall off the cab?
How do you set your TB on top of a big cab like 810? I really want one, but I'm a bit scared it might just drop off the cab during a crazy rockfest show. Especially if I doze out in my music and forget to check it behind me. It's only 5 kg.

I don't see that as likely.
Mine never moved while playing.
In fact, my MarkBass F1 never moved at absurd volume levels, and it's much lighter.

My best advice is to not put the TB on the cab at all. Tubes are said to suffer from vibrations, and the Terror has two of them.

I've never, ever had a preamp tube fail.
I've had numerous old Fenders, from back when they were new, then Ampeg, MusicMan, Aguilar, Mesa Boogie and many other heads with tubes in them...
I've always set them directly on the cab.
I've never had a power tube fail either, that didn't have a component in front of it fail.

YMMV, etc.

I was running my Terror with a 8x10, if you're worried about it falling you can loop the speakon cable around the cabs towelbar, or maybe get a thin mat to sit the amp on.

I'm using it with a 6x10 and there are no problems concerning movement of the head. The rubber feet of it seem to be quite absorbing. Otherwise, use a mat like mentioned above. Dont worry!
