I've had the Terror, iso 210 and iso 212 for a while.
Killer stack, and the lil boxes are pretty substantive on their own as well.
Man, that head has a lot of juice on tap.
Believe it or not, I've only used it one cab at a time, for little jazz gigs, which it's really nice for.

I played one through an Iso 410 and was very impressed. Don't know about a 212 but I can't imagine this head sounding bad through any cabinet. If I wasn't so taken by the new GB Streamliner 900 I'd own a Bass Terror. Great amp though, nothing but great tone when I tried it.

I run my Terror through a Bag End D-12-D. Crushing volume and tone. Clean if you want it, but why would you?

Yes, it can; it's natural voicing aside.
It's never gonna be "swr clean," but, it sure doesn't have to have grit and overdrive as part of it's native sound.

That's good to know it "can" sound clean. I definitely didn't buy it to be an SWR. I'm just wondering how much headroom it will have clean before it starts to get super gritty?
In any case I reckon' I'll know soon. I would've loved to try one out but couldn't find one to play anywhere close.

For comparison, I also have a Trace Elliot V-Type 5001, and a Shuttle 6.0. The Trace is, of course, glassy smooth and clean, with a touch of grit if you insist. "Hi-fi" comes to mind. The Shuttle is a bit edgier by nature, but calm and clean if you want it, and can get quite nasty if you insist. The Orange will obey a clean command, and get very loud doing so, but would rather be dirty. Even the user manual is full of swears.
All told, I would say the Shuttle is the better deal if you mostly play clean'ish, "normal" sounding bass, with the occasional push to gritty, and the Orange is better if you want loud, obnoxious, solar-plexus-injuring throb. In other words, the Orange is best. (Flexing my bias here.)
I'd happily gig with either.
Is he still using Kenmore cabs?
That I don't know (but I'm sure someone here does).
I just know he's featured in this year's Orange advertisements, and I read he was using their amps for this year's time machine tour.
I had a guitar setup back in the 70s with a 50 watt Marshall top and a 4 x 12 Orange cabinet. The Orange cabinet sounded much beefier than a Marshall (with the same exact speakers) because of the depth. The thing looked awesome! Anyway - based on my experience and the fact that anything Orange has so much vibe to it, I'm ready to give one of these a try.
