Orange "O" Bass?? Opinions?

Thanks for that review. What's the neck dive situation like?

It does have some neck dive which is really the only con I've found so far. The neck dive didn't seem real bad to me, but I played a Warwick thumb Bolt-on for 11 years and that to me was extreme neck dive.
I use a $20 planet waves leather strap with this bass and it seems to take care of it. Also the way the body is designed my arm comes in contact with the top part of the body while I play and the neck doesn't really move at all.

Thanks. Not that I'm in the market for another P-bass, but I found the 0-Bass' style pretty intriguing. I may have mentioned it earlier in the thread, but it seems to me that a very well-balanced bass could have been made by pushing the bridge towards the butt of the instrument. You'd lose a few frets, but it'd be remarkably compact and even lighter and this doesn't strike me as the instrument of choice for folks who are spending alot of time above the 16th fret anyway.

Yeah I'd make the trade I don't venture past frets 14 or 15 really, although the dive hasn't really bugged me anyways.

It's funny the whole short scale thing has come up a couple of times, it does remind me a touch of the reverend dub king which I loved but couldn't get comfortable with the short scale neck. I wonder if there was ever a consideration for Orange to go short scale on this build

I think it looks awesome. But based on what I've seen here, my tastes couldn't be more different than most people's on this board. Everyone seems to like natural finish basses with enormous bodies and a billion strings.

I like the orange color considerably more than I like the pickguard shape. Looked up a couple links for ones on sale and all were 34" so I'd be out unless there was a 30" scale version.

I actually noodled around on one of these at a guitar show last weekend in Columbus. I was surprised how much I liked it! I checked back about a half hour before the end of the show to nab it but the guys had already packed up and left. Who does that? lol!
