My guitarist gigs with the all tube guitar version of this.Only 15 watts, but really loud, and sounds great. For all you "tube only" folks,I'd give it a listen before poor mouthing it.

now if it would have been like a 50w all tube, I'd be all over this. Hybrid? no thanks.

Really? Even if it was not loud enough for most live applications?
I'm a big fan of the guitar version of this. A pity it's not all tube but I think they had to face the economic reality that if they want this to be their consumer level bass head- they had to make it a practical workhorse at 500 watts.
I'm assuming they will want it to sit with the tone of its tube bretheren, not the 'Orange Crush' line. Hence:in anticipation.
didn't know it was going to be that cheap. i definately will have to get one as a backup head.

Meh knowing Orange sounds extremely expensive.
Just think about how anyone outside the US used to have to deal with when buying Ampeg![]()
Agreed. There aren't enough low powered, affordable, all valve amplifiers designed for bass guitar around.now if it would have been like a 50w all tube, I'd be all over this. Hybrid? no thanks.
