Really though, most low watt amps will be fine for bass as long as your cab is solid. The regular guitar Tiny Terror sounds great on bass through a proper cab, and so do amps like the Epiphone Valve Junior.

I have a Valve, Jr., which I use for bass at low volumes (and for an octave-up 'rhythm guitar' at higher volumes). It works well in both regards. The Tiny Terror always intrigued me, as well. I may still give one a whirl someday, but I am definitely interested in checking out the Terror Bass head.

Orange, known for their all-tube amps, decides to invest in a lightweight, Class D hybrid.
you honestly think it'll sound anything like whats out there now?
think they wouldn't take the time and money to make this thing sound at least comparable to their all-tube monsters?

I'm intrigued! I'd definitely try one of these out/would be really interested in hearing some clips - i doubt many stores will stock them, but for around $700, I'm in to give it a shot! I'd love to match it with my Orange 15". Plus, it will probably hold value like most Orange stuff.
Huh. That price really surprises me, and I love the simplicity. I have an Orange dealer near me- I'll have to check it out when they get on the market.

It's described on that one retailer's site as having a "500 Watt Digital Power Section". Digital may be a vague and incorrect name for whatever it is, but it's certainly not mosfet.

Im surprised that it is going to cost more than the all tube tiny terror guitar amp.
I always thought tube stuff was more expensive to build. Orange has a pretty good track record of making good amps. I'm looking forward to hearing it.
Now a tiny terror 1 12 bass combo would be pretty cool for doing small gigs

Things are kind-of slow and I was reflecting on the Orange Bass Terror, so, I decided to do a little cost research based on available and potential products due in 2009.
All prices, except the Shuttle 12 (Elderly Music) are MF non-discounted prices (straight street price). Prices are quoted in USD and listed in ascending order.

IMHO, it looks like Orange wants a bigger piece of the bass player revenue pie and is actively pursuing it. I'm interested to see how this all plays out!
