Today I got a suprise package of free stuff from BassStringsOnline. Totally wasn't expecting this.
1 little set of fingernail clippers with a bottle opener on a keyring With the BSO logo on them.
1 set of Elixer bass strings (same gauge as the last set I bought from him back in march)
I don't know what to say. I'm bowled over. Thank you Jason, you really didn't have to.
I'm not sure why you sent them. I can only assume it was because of my post earlier in this thread:
...And yet you went ahead and posted the rant?
Have you ever stopped to think about what it might be like to run a small business like his? Trying to keep hundreds of products in stock from several dozen different manufacturers and fill, pack and ship god knows how many orders a day, communicate with all those customers and try to handle backorders for those products that have sold out? I'm not sure if he has an employee or two to help him, but if he does that brings a whole new wrinkle of complication into things.
Give people a break and go find something real to rant and rave about. Believe it or not there are actual problems in the world. People are dying of starvation, being murdered in wars, suffering from painful diseases, etc... If those things aren't happeining to you, take a moment to appreciate how good you actually have it. Then think about your bass string order and your post.
Now Jason probably doesn't want me posting that was the reason for then everyone will come out of the woodwork expecting they deserve a nice set of strings for their comments too. But if you are thinking that way then you probably don't deserve any free stuff. And I don't feel I really deserve it either just for calling out something I thought was silly on an internet forum. But I felt I had to share this cause it's just one more example of why Jason is a really nice and generous guy who sincerely cares about his customers.
I mean, think about it... most stores who might do something similar would likely send a set of the cheapest strings they have. But I don't use just any old bass strings. Jason (who apparently was moved by what I posted) took it upon himself to look up "Nev375" in his system, match that to my email address of the same name, examine my previous orders. And I need to take a moment to point out that I'm NOT a customer who has bought much stuff off him. I get a ton of mileage out of these Elixirs, so its like a set or two every other year. He ain't gettin rich off my business. But then he sends me another free set of one of his more expensive products because that's what I ACTUALLY USE.
Think about that...
That's called Integrity, and that's called customer orientation.
That's why He deserves your business.
He did not ask me to write this. I'm rambling on and on and waxing poetic like a frickin' goofball because I'm so happy somebody sent me a free gift thats actually something I want and will use. That sort of thing never happens to me. I feel like I won a lottery of some kind without ever buying a ticket. I'm just hoping I can return the favor by convincing a few people who aren't buying stuff from him to becoming his customers and spending huge wads of cash there.
Good luck Jason and Thanks so much dude. Now I got to go and try to get those clippers back from my wife before she claims them.
