Double Bass Orford Music Academy

It is a bit late for this year, but I would be happy to answer any questions I can regarding Orford. Of course, each individual instructor is free to organize their classes as they see fit. The instructors this summer are Rick Stotijn, Don Palma, myself (2 weeks), Joel Quarrington (2 weeks), and Petru Iuga (also 2 weeks), but students are able to come for as little as one week. The setting is in the beautiful mountains in Orford, Quebec, just north of Vermont.
The students are generally a mix of Canadian, US, and other international students.

I did a Jazz camp a few year ago there. Can't comment on the classical side per say. But regarding food it's fantastic, dorm if you can manage being alone it's great, if not it is a bit small. But usually there is a lot of people and it's a beautiful place. Personally what I'll keep from that experience was the availability of the teacher (don't know if it's the same in classical). But I spend the week having lunch with Alain Caron talking about a variety of subject and I think I actually learn more from that then the actual class. I know a lot of classical student who did it and most of them really enjoyed it. I'd like to go back for the one about improvisation.
