Origin Audio Cali76 FET compressor (1176 inspired)

I got it! I've been using it for a few hours. First off, the pedal is huge but really well built. The transformer out does make a difference and is worth the upgrade to me. The sample settings in the manual are right on, which is something very rare. I like it for bass alot but, I actually like it even more for my electric and acoustice guitars. In fact, I think that it's going on my guitar pedal board. I really want to try it on vocals at some point too. You can just tell that it would be perfect. I don't have one complaint about this unit. I'll post more as I spend more time with this fine unit. Just good vibes all around. Oh, superior customer service as well.
that is a great observation; my guitar player plugged an acoustic (Taylor pickup system) into my Cali-TX and it was instant CSN shimmering amazing guitar sound. As much as I love the Cali on my bass, it improved the sound of that acoustic even more.

Interesting interview with Simon Keats here by my local music shop: Red Dog Music Interviews Simon Keats of Origin Effects

Sounds like an overdrive pedal is on its way :)
Can't wait

Just received my Cali76 TX-L today. I don't have an 18v adapter so I can't really report on much of anything other than it adds some nice flavor to the sound. I'll check back in one I give it a good run through with an 18v power supply. I have two weeks to decide whether the tone justifies the price before I decide to keep or return it.

Essentially the point of the Lundahl is to be totally flat, so it shouldn't effect the sound at all

So if there is no difference in sound why would they have a L version at all. That doesn't make sense to me. From what I've read it is the transformer version that doesn't push into saturation like the TX but does add to the sound. I could be wrong.

The L version will be very transparent if you want to use it in a recording setting, especially with different instruments and also at line level if you use the internal jumpers.
