Origin Audio Cali76 FET compressor (1176 inspired)

Hi Bongo,
how would you comparison of the two mostly sound wise ?
The Diamond is very good sounding, not much control though
I love the sound of the Diamond, but I think the Cali has a bit more "heft" and fullness. It has a more complex response to peaks, so it is possible to set it for a higher ratio or higher input gain, and still sound very "natural".

"LoL"

English isnt my first language, so I probabbly dont know what I write.

Yes there is a tiny bit color which is fine, if the Cali76 does not have more would be nice.

the difference between disengaged and engaged compressor,
there is that feel of more power, directness, strings feel stiffer.
Thats what I meant with punch.

Whats happens also in front of the speaker, the sound coming out is not radiating to the side so much its forward focused if engaged, very cleaned up.

With the Amp and speaker I play now its not that obvious,
but with the Demeter HB600 / Bag End 4x10 is was a very big difference.

I got it! I've been using it for a few hours. First off, the pedal is huge but really well built. The transformer out does make a difference and is worth the upgrade to me. The sample settings in the manual are right on, which is something very rare. I like it for bass alot but, I actually like it even more for my electric and acoustice guitars. In fact, I think that it's going on my guitar pedal board. I really want to try it on vocals at some point too. You can just tell that it would be perfect. I don't have one complaint about this unit. I'll post more as I spend more time with this fine unit. Just good vibes all around. Oh, superior customer service as well.

The low end is nice and wide from this comp and the notes sound fuller and clearer higher on the neck than the other comps I own/owned. The transformer out does at a certain top end, juice or life to the sound as well. The regular out is great as well but, the transformer is a great upgrade and would make an even bigger difference on other instruments I think. If I ever need compression for home studio project vocals, this is what I'll use. On guitar you can get a very plucky sound or one that is smooth and it just makes the guitar sing. I can't wait to run my martin acoustic through it.

Hello every one, I thought it would be cool if everybody could post some favorite setting.

I would be really interested in settings for fast finger playing and for slower long notes on a fretless.
Or if that is possible one setting which can do both.

Here my Impressions with out playing it.

Got mine today with the transformer. serial no 30
Its big, but really sturdy built with thick something like 1/8 or 3/32 aluminum (2.5 mm).
It has a nice look and a great layout.
I would say, if it sounds as good as it is made, its a winner.

Its not a crappy cheap made industrial mass product from china like many things these days.

By the way, Keith is a really cool dude and quite a enthusiast !
The unit was here within 36 hours !!!

Again thanks a lot Keith !
