overdrive/fuzz quest part 2

Just finished up this one designed by J Nagy. It uses a mosfet (BS170) to drive two Jfets (J201's) for its distortion, followed by a BJT (2N5088) to boost its output. after modding it for more low end, it's a very nice sounding mild to heavy OD/distortion pedal now.

it looks like tomorrow i'll be making and posting more clips. (yay!)

:hyper: wahey! johnk_10 just discovered your OD threads and the link on your signature. you really are a mass of bass OD knowledge!

Can i get some advice? I'm after a broken up Hiwatt type of OD like reminiscent of John Wetton's King Crimson phase such as on Starless on:
http://youtu.be/t-YJyffWh3s (bass OD starts at about 4:30in more dirt about 6:30)
I'm considering an EBS multidrive. Do you think i'm in the right ballpark? Greedtone doesn't seem to be that available in the UK.

At a mucher cheaper price i've also considered the JOYO offerings, but would be prepared to spend more for the EBS if better OD. Any thoughts?

Unless you get the new version announced at NAMM that has all the controls on the outside, the regular Pickle has a few trimpots inside you can adjust, apparently one of which affects the low end, so make sure you delve in there!

I made mine with all of the controls mounted externally.

on the current one with the internal trimpots, one of them is labeled 'voice' and the other 'clip'.
the voice trimpot adjustes the intensity of the external scoop control, so if you adjust if for more scoop, it can have a ton of low end.
