I just got it completed. it's too late for a sound clip tonight, but i'll post one tomorrow.

Sweet!!! Can't wait to hear it.

I just made another incarnation of the Atlantis. on this 'V3' version, instead of removing the OCD's tone control and replacing it with treble & bass controls, on this one, I made it a slightly modified for bass OCD, and then added a 'tilt' control borrowed from the English Quad 34 hi-fi preamp which Diamond also used in their compressor.
here's a graph of what the tilt control does:

the reason that I went this way on the V3 is because, while V1 with the baxandall tonestack sounds really nice, and is a great sounding pedal in its own right, it lost a bit of the complex mids that a stock OCD has. this one retains all of the original OCD tones and goes way beyond it.

with the tilt in the center (12:00) the pedal is unaffected. CCW, it gently rolls off the highs and adds lows, and does the opposite when turned clockwise.

Tilt controls are really interesting. I've been reading about BMP tone stack mods like the AMZ one with balanced LPF and HPF's lately and it seems like a handy, initiative approach. It's like having one faucet for hot and cold. :D

But what does the tone knob do? Is it another LPF? Or something with the clipping circuit?

the tone control in an OCD is just a passive LPF. but when you have an active tilt control combined with it, it opens up a whole set of sounds. at the extremes, you can run the tone control to it's brightest setting (fully clockwise) and then boost the low end, or you can run the tone control to a darker setting and then run the tilt to cut some lows and brighten it since the tilt is an active control.

Hi John, how does the OFD compare with an Empress Multidrive? I'm guessing I'd need three OFD's to make the same sounds?

I like my empress MD a lot but actually prefer the OFD more. and not, you wouldn't need 3 OFD's. the OFD actually has A LOT more sounds in it than the empress.
