overdrive/fuzz quest part 2

John, do you have a list of your top OD pedals that you've tried? I occasionally see you mention one as "one of your favorites" on your site's OD page, but I've never seen a list of your top pedals (to date). Do you have one?

I've built so many now that it's hard to keep track of them.
here's some favorites that come to mind:

Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop
Creation Audio labs Holy fire
runoffgroove Ginger
Cochrane Timmy
My Orange bass preamp
Okko Diablo (modded for bass)
Cornish SS-2 (modded for bass version)
Thobak Overdrive Boost
just about any BJFE/Bearfoot design
just about any Barber pedal
almost any Roger Mayer design
... and a bunch that i'm probably forgetting.........

I will look into ALL of those. I am seriously on the hunt now.

Check out the Earthquaker Tone Reaper if you are looking for something ultra unique and versatile. It's a dual fuzz (a muff type and a tonebender type) with an octave up control. You can use any combination of the 3 sounds together. Very nice fuzz if unique and versatile are your goals.

here's another F2B (using FET's) but without the extra OD circuit so it fits in a 1590B. I love the tone of this one:

What is the green amp emulator? (the pic doe snot show up for me, might be my isp having issues) Is it a Green/Matamp preamp type of deal?
yep, it's a green/matamp emulator. it's very similar to an orange amp emulator but the drive stage is pre eq, and boost stage is post. in the orange, they're both post eq.
