and yes, the switch raises the value of the input capacitor. it's the same mod that many people do on tube screamers. (i did the mod (as well as a couple of others) on my vintage TS9 and Bad Monkey.
another one that I built a little while ago that I forgot to post is the Rockett ***. for such a small circuit (only two transistors and 3 knobs) you can get a ton of different tones out of it. the the *** control counterclockwise, it's pretty much a 'normal' fuzztone, but with the *** control clockwise it can get crazy and gated, and with the gain down it adds some sub octave overtones. BTW, the circuit was designed by Paul Trombetta

John isnt it time for another special pedal to sell. I keep missing out on the ones i want and now that i am finally back to work there's nothing to spend on :-(((((
i'll try to find time to make one of it tomorrow.Hi John, I'd love to hear some sound samples from this pedal.
and it's almost there. He's busy building awesome stuff with Frank. Hopefully there is a run of that transformer pedal soon![]()
since i've always liked the tone in the many videos that i've seen & heard, I just got my second B3k today. the newest version's attack switch has a hi-cut filter (along with a hi-boost and 'hi- flat' setting)
with the hi-cut, I do like it better than the first one that I had (a USA version) but I guess that this pedal's overall 'voicing' just doesn't work for me.
I was trying to figure out what bugged me about it and once I ran an real time analyzer test on its drive side I found out why.

.......so it'll either be going back for a refund or possibly be in the TB classifieds tomorrow.

missed something?? transformer pedal. tell me more
That makes me feel a ton better about not liking mine. I'm by no means as crazy about wanting transparency in my OD's, but there's just too much going on there that doesn't fit with how I like my tone.since i've always liked the tone in the many videos that i've seen & heard, I just got my second B3k today. the newest version's attack switch has a hi-cut filter (along with a hi-boost and 'hi- flat' setting)

I am thinking about picking up a Bluetube, but I was wondering if it would be a bit "redundant" running it through my Hartke LH500 being as they are basically the same tone stack. Would I be better off just doing the JohnK mod to my Pork Loin?
it's a single capacitor mod to bring the top end back since I found the PL to be a bit muddy.Wait...what's the JohnK mod to the Pork Loin?!
