overdrive/fuzz quest part 2

just finished building Runoffgroove's Britannia (Vox AC30 emulator) it does lose some low end with a bass, but that was to be expected being that it sounds like playing a bass thru a Vox AC30. regardless, it's a great, dynamic pedal. I etched a pcb and the enclosure for this one.

Hi John,

These new etched enclosures of yours look stunning, especially this VOX Britannia. Your versions of the Blowerbox and most of all the Space Patrol Fuzz are also really great !
I was just wondering how you made it for the pcb layout. Did you have an original to trace or did you start from the ground up using the vero layout ?

i just got another discontinued and fairly rare one completed, the Frantone Cream Puff. it's a pretty heavy distortion/fuzz with a ton of low end.

Great sounding pedal. I like Frantone pedals. Fran created 3 pedals specifically for bass: the Thunderhead, the Bassweet and the Lo-tone Classic Fuzz. I owned the 3 of them at one point and they are worth seeking. I actually owned two Thunderheads. All have interesting tones and they are quite unique.

I recently completed a few more builds + one modded pedal.
a friend of mine loaned me his bearfoot 3BOD so I cloned it. it's a low gainer but it does sound good:

I also bought a boss DS-1 for cheap but didn't care for it so I did the Keeley mods on it and it actually sounds pretty good with a bass now:

and I built three different Animatos. one with a clean blend, one 100% stock, and another with a tilt control:
