OVNIFX Smoothie Compressor

If you're on the fence and thinking about getting the Smoothie, do it. Really, really nice. I have a feeling these are not going to show up in the Classifieds. I'm only saying this because I'm thinking about buying a second one in case the first is stolen or run over by a truck. I'd probably have to get that one shipped to work. My wife is supportive, but there are limits.

Man I cant wait to heart what some of you think about this comp. I have been looking into comps a little more lately and this one really has me intrigued. Duke, cant wait to hear what you think!! !

I will for sure, just waiting for delivery.

bongo, I got my email regarding shipping right away

How did I miss this thread? :) Thanks Frank for taking notice.

The knobs are now on. The photos without knobs were from the guy who built these for me, and he didn't happen to have a good knob supplier. I'll post a photo with the knobs soon. The pedals were built by my friend Leszek who was the engineer/designer at Exar effects.

The choice of a two-position threshold switch instead of a threshold knob was the best compromise Leszek could come up with between his circuit design and my wish-list of features. I would have preferred a knob with a wide range, but it wasn't feasible in this case.

It is based around the CA3080 like the dreaded Ross/Dynacomp, however Leszek managed to give it a nearly ruler-flat frequency response and very low noise. The Tone knob is a tilting EQ very much like the one in the Diamond comp. It has an LED to indicate the amount of compression.

Essentially it combines some of the best qualities of the Wampler and the Diamond, in a smaller size.

I only just received the pedals a couple days ago, so I have not yet put up a page advertising them for sale or going into detail. But soon! Very soon.

Thanks for the interest!

A Ross/Dynacomp design? Say it ain't so Bongomania :crying:
