OVNIFX Smoothie Compressor

That sounds great! I really want to purchase one, but I'm staying in the USA only for a week by the end of March, and the shipping costs/taxes to Brazil are out of reach for me... How long do you think it will take for the 2nd run to be available (supposing the 1st one will be sold by the time i get there) ?

Hmm, I'm not sure. My designer/builder lives in Europe, so with shipping and customs etc. there might be a gap of a month before the second run becomes available.

The end of March is almost here; so if you want to try to get in on the current batch, please email me and I'll try to make it happen. It only takes two or three days for a package to be delivered inside the US, so I could probably make it land during your visit.

I might send you a message tomorrow, bongomania. Thank you!!

Well, so basically what I think about this pedal right now, from what i've read here, is that it thickens tone as well as the Diamond BCP-1, but with extended peak limiting hability, smaller enclosure, runs at 9V and sells at a cheaper price. What do you guys think? Anyone who already tested this pedal wanna give their 2 cents? (bongomania, you could answer this too... Yeah it may sound like self-marketing but whatever, the TB community knows how sincere you are!)

I can vouch for Bongo's description. Definitely as advertised. The tone knob seems useful but maybe not at the extremes. The thing is also a tank. Surprisingly heavy and dense feeling. I expected to find a battery in it when I opened it. The foam pad is absurd but easily dealt with. So far so very good.

Got mine this morning. I have to wait til this afternoon to test it out. But it is built like a tank. Mine says 1 of 16. Kinda cool to have the first one. I probably going to leave the foam on and zip tie it down.

An update on the question of whether the EQ is pre or post blend: I may have been mistaken! Leszek insists the EQ is already pre blend; however it seems that the level knob also mixes in the compressed signal completely irrespective of the blend knob, leading to my perception that the EQ was post blend.

IOW, turn level to min and blend to max, and you get direct clean signal with no EQ.

Of course this is maddening! I am in the process of trying to straighten it out with him.

Just to be clear, the blend does work and the pedal performs great exactly the way it is, so I am not denigrating anything about how it sounds. But you know me--I like to know how everything actually works, and I like to be able to report on that accurately. More details will come as I get them.

That's 13 of 16! :) :) :hyper:
Sounds like there are plans for a second run of these, yeah?
Yeah at this rate I'd be a fool not to do it. The second run will have the foam bottom pad supplied unattached, as an accessory if you want it. And this business of levels and EQ and blend will be squared away with more clarity.

I just got a new camera, so I'll try to post a demo video this weekend.

This pedal is PHAT as hell!! So, so thick in the best possible way. Well done sir, well done. I have had a few comps and this one was by far the easiest and overall best sounding.

After an hour of use I think this one is a winner. In that price range, its an amazing value. Well done bongo, pat, thick, smooth. Smoothie is definitely the right name

Dang it, I've had my Empress for a few months, reasonably big upgrade over my MXR, mostly happy with it...can't believe I am having second thoughts.

Question if it hasn't been asked yet: how does this work on guitar?
