Indeed it is! I modded a SX Red Geddy.

The real dual P will be done in a month or so, and you'll see something like you've never seen before... ;)

I hope you haven't stolen my idea of the Capital P (currently in the works) :P

What type of sound will the 'Capital P' have... very interesting.

BTW... all of the basses in this thread are awesome... they're giving me the jonez for a P-Bass... especially the P/J Fretless.... oh even better... a 5 string P/J fretless... .oh yeah!!

That is freakin' awesome! Now I'm going to have to order another P just to do that to...

*sigh*

:D

The Python bass I'm building will look a lot better than the converted Jazz... But I digress. I'm totally stealing that idea, 3toes, but it's gonna have to wait till after the holidays.

Last update before I move. I won't be on the internet until next Saturday(stupid cable company). I will try and stop by the library and do an update.

Have a good week and keep posting the awesome basses. Man that fretless P that C'thulhu has....mmmeeeeeooooowwww!!!!

Here's 2/3 of my bass collection and the two best P basses I've owned. The Tony Franklin fretless is amazing and has restored my belief that Fender can still do it right when they want to. I'm usually inclined to tinker with pickup swaps etc., but I won't touch this one. It's got something special that I don't want to mess with. It's become my all time favorite fretless.
The Metro HPJ is everything you'd expect from a Sadowsky bass and this one has the lowest and cleanest action of any bass I've had. I usually prefer rosewood fingerboards, but I took a chance on this one and have been totally pleased with. It's not overly bright and can still get a nice fat sound. It's getting a tort pickguard for Christmas.

I'm already a club member (#585), but wanted to tell y'all I bought my 12yr son his first bass and yes, it's a P. :smug:

This is the one we took home: Invalid Link Removed

3-tone sunburst with tortoiseshell pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard, that's IMO the most beautiful and classic combination, I'm glad he chose that. It's a very accurate P-Bass copy made in China - it has even the lawsuit headstock - but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality: solid construction, the neck felt nice and chunky, good fretwork, the neck joint was tight (no gaps) and most importantly it just sounds good. With the tone open it has a nice low-mid growl, turning down the tone gives a lovely warm old school P tone. And all this from a new bass which is priced below 200 euros. Seriously, I could play a gig with this: beginners have it so good these days, I remember the POS bass I had to wrestle with when I started in the early 80's.

My love:

It have a Fender USA P bass neck on it, Maple fretboard.

And I am planing on buying another, its gonna be a P/J with a P body, but if I go for a Shuker JJ burnel P bass or build a Status/warmoth/sadowsky just have to wait and see.

Aha, you are the Steve Harris of death metal :hiding:

I could never decide whether I thought the mirror 'guard was awesome or ridiculous...

Whats that extra hole in the middle for/from?
