P-Bass Club (Part 2) Precision Decisions

Ideas for a franken P? I have a Modulus BaSSStar neck that I once had on a Fender Jazz body, and other than a slighlty loose, side-to-side fit in the pocket (well, not loose, but just a little space there), it fit well. I got rid of that body (sold it with its original neck), and am now wanting to put together a custom P using the Modulus neck.

I wondered if Fender made only the one size Precision body. My son's G&L LB 100 has a Precision shaped body, but is a little smaller–less bulky looking. I've seen the Precision Lyte model and don't care for it. Just thinking a bit smaller P body in the way Warmoth makes a "Dinky J". I don't think they offer one.

Would love to join the club and post pics of what I have in mind: Deep redburst P with a black guard and a Darkstar using the Modulus neck. Other than this pending project, I've pretty much run out of GAS.

Too bad about the tort guard. Yuck.
Otherwise a quick switch and wow, you'd be money.
A rare PCM which went only for 90 bucks.

Here's mine. The body is made of wonder woman jet technology.... :hiding: actually, it's a part for a custom finish job. It's a 94 MIM Fender P. Can I join?

O.K., so you believe I have the entire thing, there's also a pic of it on my wall before I stripped it. It's hanging next to my Schecter Stiletto, MIM Strat, and Speedster Travler.

OK, here is the finished product. An improvement over red/white? :smug:

Is there something wrong with having a tort guard on a natural finish P-bass?

Has anyone in here made a P-bass Special (With the Jazz pickup) active? I've got one and I'm thinking of it, but I was curious if it's able to be done.

Or, is there a way to make it as hot as an active? Like a certain pickup setup that I could put in?

I'm thinking of putting DiMarzio DP127's into the middle position, but I'm just asking for my options.
