P bass fan club roll call.

I've got a question for any of you PBassers.

I bought a PBass new back in '86. It's made in Japan and has a modified bodied similar to the PLite. It has no pickuard (all black) and the neck isn't quite as 'bulky' as the standard P. Can anyone tell me what line this is??

BTW, when I was shopping for a PBass I tried both the Americans and this Japanese one and felt that the Japanese one had a great sound and better feel. I still own it today. :)

I'm in, 2 of my 3 basses could be labeled as P basses. My first is a MIA Fender P that I bought used with a molded case and a set of D'Adarrios for 300 bucks. I love this bass, while it may not sound as good as a Conklin or a Warwick, it can definately hold its own in different styles of music. My second is a Yamaha RBX60 fretless that I picked up for 280 bucks. I like it because it has an alder body (i like alder tone the best) and its pretty comfortable. Im thinking of putting some Basslines in there to make it better than its worth. I think P-tone has more "balls" than J-tone, to me the P sounds like it has more lows. The J tone can get too bright for my likings....

I'm a p-bass fanatic and I try and use it everytime the chance calls for it! I have a Lakland Bob Glaub P(maple fretboard) with D'Addario Chromes flatwoundss.If you wanna hear it,check out my page at Link Removed and listen to, "Rock With You, and "Funky Dream"..I think it's a really cool tone to have in the arsenal!
