P/J bass with kill switch for J

I had a G&L SB-2 for a while wired up as volume, tone + on/off for the bridge pickup. Split coil was on all the time.

I was aiming to make it more of an SB-1 plus having the option to add in the bridge pickup, and it did just that wonderfully. No blending, just a simple "it's there or it's not there" for the bridge pickup.

I'm no expert, but I've been reading about interesting electronics mods in preparation for a passive PJ parts build and have learned a few things. My understanding is that each pot places a load on the circuit, even if the volume or value of that pot is turned all the way off. So a PJ with the P soloed won't necessarily be the same as a P all on its own without a J in the circuit.

With VBT controls, there is a workaround that I was planning to use on my build, which you can read about here: Ultimate No-load Ungrounded Blend Pot (Pics!)

Hopefully that helps!
