A "back from the dead" bump, and a question:
What does everyone have their pickup height set at (especially for those of you with Fenders)?
I've been noticing on the last few gigs that the G, D & A sound good, but I'm lacking a bit of volume on the E & B. when I raise the pickup height on the B side I start to get that chorus/warble coming through...
Any help would be appreciated!
I try and set my pickup height evenly for all the strings, never measure it per se just eye it. My P5 is strung with TI flats and the B and E are just as strong as the rest of the strings, no warble, just good notes.
Are your TI's through body?
I was a very bad boy today. After months of thinking about it I took advantage of the holiday sales and ordered a black/maple AmStd P5 to go along with my 3TSB/RW.
Now to find a black pickguard!
This is all Srirachaglo's fault, by the way. Srirachaglo - expect a call from my wife if she finds out.
Yeah, it looks like the new colors don't have a black PG either, just the usual tort and white. Is WD still the good fitting, well made aftermarket replacement PG of choice for the AmStd P5?
And what do people think - B/W/B or solid black on black and maple? Or even black/cream/black?
That makes two of us.
Very nice!
