may merely be separate pieces glued together in a fair attempt at matching the grain.

I was looking at the first pic. Zooming it it looks like it’s just the grain.

Noticed a weird patch next to the battery box inboard toward the neck plank. Looks like maybe it was routed then filled back in. Not a huge issue but definitely something going on there.

unless this is a subspecies that's never been sold at the wood store or lutherie supply stores i haunt, i'd have to agree with that. i've seen a lot of zebrawood, and none looked like that. usually it has thin, black inklike stripes.

btw, whatever it is, it's slab sawn, which usually tends to look cooler.

The glue up along the right side of the neck is kinda ragged. Overall there is some sketchy workmanship here. The faux zebrawood is a real turn off for me.

I’ve seen similar things on aliexpress. Im pretty sure the “zebrawood “ is a faux paint job.
