Patchouli oil for fretboards?

Yeah, no. It may be a good fretboard conditioner, but, if someone tried to sell me a bass that smelled like that, I would have to pass. I can't stand the smell of the stuff. My old percussionist showered at my house one day, and put on patchouli afterwards. It took a week to get the stink out of the house.
The best fretboard oil I know if is this stuff called Fret Doctor: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (they also make fife bore oil).
I’ll definitely check that out, I need some conditioner and have some patchouli over here, partly why I asked to begin with.

I use Formby's lemon oil for the rosewood boards....
I use CBD oil on my FB. 
Just kidding, that stuff is expensive. I haven’t touched anything containing cannabis for almost 40 years. But the scent of patchouli oil sure takes me back to the good old days. I sure miss those hippie chicks.

We called it "hippie butter." It gives me flashbacks. No. I wouldn't put it on my bass. I wouldn't put it on my face. I wouldn't let it near my strings. Let's talk about some other things.
There are a handful of treatment oils that work great for fretboard. Wouldn't recommend using something that isn't meant to be a wood conditioner.

Don't know whether I could recommend it or not, but you could put incense and peppermints in the little compartment with the strap and cord.

When I worked at Taylor Guitars back in the 70’s, we used lemon oil. (I have no idea what they use now.)
