Hmmm, it's just people treat me like I know nothing and I am not entitled to my opinion...and yes, Slayer influenced Slipknot a lot, but I just think Slayer dont have the deepness of Slipknot, and I feel the deeper, the heavier(in general).

You are so blind to reality it's not even humorous anymore. Have you even listened to any slayer? My guess, with that opinion, would be little to none. Regardless, even if you don't like them, the fact that EVERYONE on this thread is telling you to check out some other bands/drummers should tell you that your knowledge may not be the end all that you perceive.

I DARE you to listen to one cryptopsy song, or easier yet, check out that link that Brendan put up. You're "sticking" with Slipknot, fine, but don't you at least want to know if you're missing out on music that you MIGHT actually like? If you're down with heavy bands, I highly recommend you expand your mind, and actually try to be open to the fact that, sad but true, slipknot is not the heaviest/greatest band that has ever existed.

Wow, you know it's bad when you are arguing the merits of Slipknot's drummer in the bassists forum.

Nickthebassist, I respect your opinion, yet not the way you voice it most of the time. Slipknot is a band of talented musicians, sure, but I feel that they don't allow that to come through in their music, with the exception of Joey from time to time. If you had heard Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat., you would know what I'm talking about (I've got it, and I can send it to you if you want). Paul is a damn fine bassist on those recordings, and the rest of the band is pretty top knotch as well. The old singer kind of sucks, but overall it's a pretty fun disc.

Heaviness does not a band make. So you feel that Slipknot is the heaviest band ever, and that's fine. One man's Slipknot is another man's weenie metal. If you like Slipknot, you might want to check out where they get their influence from, and check out some of the suggestions that others have mentioned to you. So you don't like Slayer - I guarantee you that Slipknot worships those guys. You'd do well to expand your horizons a bit, or at least don't scoff when others have different opinions than you.

Nick, I'm getting tired of closing threads that you rage in. You have a valid opinion.... and seem like a cool guy. BUT WE DO NOT TO HAVE TO CONCEED TO YOUR OPINION TO MAKE IT VALID.

I really dig heavy and tense music... but the second the Cookie Monster & Piggy Squeels start it's over.... same with vampire goes to the opera stuff. but whatever, it just my opinion and my taste. No part of it makes me better then you, or you over me.
