The king bassist/vocalist of pop-rock, he'd be the most normal dude to have a pint with, and he's STILL touring with long shows.
I love Paul.
Back in 2015 (I think), my wife and I ran a non-profit and we would always do Bonnarroo, the 4 day music festival in Tenneessee. I headed up our crew, the non-profits had their own area, Center Roo. We were considered vendors, which allowed for better camping, showers, and being driven to our location through the back stage/Artist area.
Paul was the headliner on Saturday night. we shut down on Friday evening at 11pm, loaded into vans and were being driven back to our campground, when we had to stop behind the main stage, due to tons of police cars blocking the area. We were told Paul was being escorted in to do a soundcheck for the following evening. He had a massive police escort, and they were there to take him back to where he was staying when done.
We were behind the stage, We couldn't see, but we all got out so we could listen. The police were gathered in front of the stage, Paul showed his appreciation to then by playing pretty close to the full show. Just for them. we got to listen to it. I loved the guy already, but that just proved what cool guy he is.
I watched the full concert Saturday evening, He performed everything in choronlogical order, with the stage setup doing the same. He came out in a Beatles suit, then went into Sgt. Peppers, then Wings, etc...
It was the most incredible thing that I have ever seen. I'm a big, biker looking Dude. I cried. I'll never forget it.
