It's mostly items like spider pots and that double diode Peavey used for the overheat protection circuit. They're probably available, I would just have to search. 20 years ago, it was easy to call the Peavey parts department and get everything you needed.

The spider pots are a treasure hunt. I was searching for them just a few years ago as I had a DynaBass that had some pretty wonky spider pots. I also wanted to maybe get another set to have on hand. Found some, but not at the values/tapers/size I was looking for. The one I found were 16mm vs the 25mm I was replacing. There would have to be a little modding to make those smaller pots (with slightly different spider leg splay) to work on the stock circuit board.

I gave up looking for new replacements. I eventually decided to take a calculated risk and rebuild. Pulled them apart, found a similar value/taper CTS wafer from a donor pot and rebuilt one. I was able to just take the other 3 apart, clean, relube and put back together a little more tightly. They, as a whole, ended up performing reasonably, not perfectly, but good enough for RnR. Another vote for CTS pots that are reasonably serviceable!

So. I'm debating seeking an amp, my Peavey Mk-III. It's had some issues with a part port two getting old... part of the decision process has involved comparison with a TNT115S in my possession. I've listened on headphones to both amps from live phone vids, playing the Epiphone CP Thunderbird. The TNT has a sweeter and more detailed sound thus far. That may be due to the simpler preamp, and allegedly "muddier" tone, but I'm liking it.
The Mk-III was played through an old Carvin 215 w/ Eminence Kappalites, the TNT with the single Sheffield 15.
Less is appearing to be more here. Also the TNT has the "Punch" toggle, the secret weapon...
Anybody have any remarks to throw on the table, I'm happy to hear them.
Add just for the sake of staying out of trouble, the Mk-III isn't going away just yet...

Ampeg 810 fridge, pair of TL 606s, loaded with Kappalites. That was great, but too big for most all of the venues I play.

listed on the FB Marketplace in Niles Ohio if anyone here is nearby and wants to snatch it up.

I messaged him suggesting GC, he messaged back that if it doesn't sell in a couple days he'll try that.

I just checked GC Used site and they have a new listing of this head with no pic yet (not sure if black or white) for $399.99

Wow. All this bypassed old gear that kicks butt going for Goodwill prices.
I'm trying to snag a 115 Combo for a similar kind of steal. I'll probably move something along to make room for it.
But that's a nice deal.

The Mk-III has been pulled from the mouth of the lion. My tech friend replaced an IC from 1979 that had silver oxide connectors that had corroded, replaced a couple caps, one was tantalum and he swapped it for an electrolytic.
I'll hear back about the test run tomorrow, have it back by the weekend.
I'll probably have to keep it now. Bummer.

I am fighting GAS for it, but I swear I'd never use it.

I have three of my favorite (same) heads already, and a Peavey MiniMAX 600 with more power than that.

I don't need 2-ohms either, but I have a rack rig that weighs probably the same and puts out 1500 watts at 2ohms.

I get it, I need about half of what I've got! It's kind of a problem actually... I'm happy when I'm playing, and not thinking about this stuff.

Ah sweet memories!
Ran a Peavey Mark III head through a Plush 215 cab w Altec 412BH speaks early '80s - '05.
Made a lot of money in Top 40 cover bands and then starved through a couple of good original bands.
Unfortunately can't find any band pix with rig in view.

In '96 left the big city and moved to the sticks (see zip code location under avatar pic) and thankfully found a hard rawk originals band. In this band I ran it bi-amp with a Sunn Concert Slave = Mark III > Marshall 412 for highs, and Concert > Sunn 8028 (12+18 EV) for lows. Lotta fun -- but a lot of weight to haul around - I was semi young then.

I still have all of this stuff in the [heated insulated] garage storage/practice room.
Funny thing is I had/have a Sunn 200s and Concert w/ 215 JBL rig that I stopped using to "upgrade" to the modern sterile Peavey head. It just seemed to be the trend '80s to ditch the classic old rigs (except SVTs always seemed to stay around) for "modern" gear.
I still use the Sunn stuff sometimes, but now have lightweight GK rigs and have been using GK stuff since '05.

But that $150 Peavey head paid for a lion's share of my home mortgage back when, and a couple small/mid Chevy trucks, so I owe it a great deal of gratitude!! Never use it any more; so clanky even with all of the EQ features, but really appreciated the ability to blend/activate the two channels together sounded good. If I was running it today knowing a little more about EQing I could no doubt get better tones - but I always got compliments on my sound [cuz it's all in the fingers; right? ].

Well I now own a Peavey VB-2 to my collection, thanks to @bassguitarist85 for his help, wanted to purchase his, but the shipping was too much to deal with.The seller said he had a FRIEND go through it, well you know how that is, i'll be going through this head next week, ordered new tubes through VIVA, had good luck with them on my Ampeg heads tubes, no scratchy pots, some white noise, i'll check the caps, thinking it might be the V1 tube a lower grade tube, sounds great through my modified Ampeg 212 cab - 8 ohms 600 watts

Well I finally found the overdrive I love that my V4B wasn't getting, only had it 1 day so looking forward to running amuck with it Monday, its at my shop, bit too loud for home playing, right now I am chatting with @bassguitarist85 on specs on the tubes and mods upgrades. oh and figuring on wiring in a led transformer to place the blue led lights on.
