Congrats! It looks kind of pink in the photos. Is that accurate color rendition, or a modern camera/computer making it that hue?

The Fury for sale locally is deep red.

Ya the cam on my bb is not good, it is very much fire red

I had a Fury from 87 until the mid 90s. It was my primary bass off and on for a few years. Of course, being the late 80s, I replaced the stock split coil with an EMG. Played well, sounded decent.

It has a Hi-A (vintage Bartolini) pickup in it. My feeling is there are more expensive P basses, but there are not better P basses.

This would be a cool pickguard on a red bass! All of the bigger pickguard vendors can make you a new one out of any material they stock. All you have to do is either trace yours out (follow their precise instructions) or send yours in.

I had a black Fury with a white guard, great bass. I gave mine away to a family member last Christmas. I just rejoined the racks of Peavey ownership yesterday with the purchase of a Foundation.

These American Peaveys are gems, have fun with it!

Does anyone know if Seymour Duncan quarter pounders fit without any modifications on a Fury?

I just recently purchased a Fury off of ebay and dropped a SD quarter pounder in it. No modifications to the bass were needed.

Can't praise the Peaveys high enough. Foundations 4 &5, Patriot and a T 20 on it's way from Tennessee to Scotland.
Have 8 BXP models as well.

Was outbid yesterday on a Fury,went for £147 or $240 US.

Yep, I have both. First two years of Fury production if I am correct were with the slanted super ferrite. They are superb basses. A cut above the later Furys. But the later ones are excellent basses as well. Congrats.

Reviving a thread... I've long been a strong advocate for Peavey basses. My first real, none POJ bass was a black DynaBass I bought in 1991.


LOVED THAT BASS!

Unfortunately, it got stolen in 1999. Gone forever. I did eventually get a replacement and just recently restored it... Brilliant piece of bass!!!!

Well, I've been hankering for a new bass for a while, but have been picky. Since most of my basses are Peavey, I thought I'd try something different. I was going to head over to GC to get a white Ibanez I kind of like. Just for the heck of it, I decided to surf Craigslist to see what kind of basses were out on the used market. What do you know! A very pretty white 98 Fury just popped up on the market! It comes with a case too! May be on my way out the door to get it if the seller is available!!!!!
