Peavey MiniMega 1000

Bobby said, not many posts ago, that it would likely be around Thanksgiving. That said, either MF or the folks who communicate with them at Peavey or both have got to stop putting out... irrationally exuberant dates. That might keep some people going, but at the cost of alienating others.

That would be something, but I don't think those are the ones, ubiquitous in small bass amps, to which Bobby was referring - I can't speak for him, though. I can say that hearing my former Demeter HBP1-800D through its internal power section (same module, I think, that the GK MB800 uses) and then through a small power amp built around the 1000 Watt Ice module, the latter was smoother throughout and more immediate down low. The internal power section kicked pretty hard and pretty quickly, but it doesn't have quite the clarity and immediacy of the 1000 Watt power section.
My first bass was a Peavey. I still have it. My first amp was an old Peavey KB100 that my parents had. My first real bass amp was a Peavey Combo 115. I've played for artists that endorsed Peavey. Peavey asked me to endorse their basses. I passed but not because it was Peavey.
I was a Peavey fan and user.

After watching the "Undercover Boss" featuring Peavey I can not, in good conscience, purchase Peavey. If you haven't seen it you need to. Hartley should change his name to Heartless.

I did not watch any shows of that series, but I did run across this which I will provide since this thread is about a Peavey product (I have no dog in this fight either way) (if the mods wish, feel free to remove):
Peavey Responds to Controversial Episode of CBS's "Undercover Boss"
My intention was not to turn this is to a "hate Peavey" thread. I did see the response when it came out because I've been around TV production and reality shows. I know how editing can make things look very different than they really are. I wanted to give Peavey the benefit of the doubt, mainly for the reasons I stated above.
Although the most expensive pieces of my gear are made in the USA, other pieces are not. Sweden and China made the rest. The quality is there. I am understanding of, and sympathetic to, the economic realities that would push manufacturing over seas. I'm not an "anti-China" person by any stretch, although given the option I will purchase USA products assuming the price competitive. (I expect Canadians would say the same about Canadian products.)
I've watched a lot of the Undercover Boss series from the US and Canada because I find the concept interesting and, with the exception of Peavey, I was left with a positive outlook on the CEO (or other official, even a mayor or two) that was undercover. Peavey, on the other hand, I was left thinking "what a jerk". (I'm being polite because what I really thought would get this removed.) After reading the Peavey response and thinking about it for a year my opinion has not changed and it disappoints me.
When we buy a product or service we are basically putting our trust in a company. Will they honor their warranty, is the quality up to a reasonable standard for it's price point, will it preform as claimed etc. Fact is, I don't believe Peavey anymore. And that's the real problem.

Empress Effect, Diamond Pedals, Dingwall and Broil King gas grills are great and from Canada! So far I'm not too impressed with ya'alls whiskey but even that could change.
There's also roots clothing, p.e.I. potatoes, and if you're ever in Canada, look for the Canadian club chairman select %100 rye, currently my favorite whiskey period, and they only sell it in Canada.
Actually there's Godin (fantastic acoustic electrics), Yorkville, Traynor, Seagull off the top of my head.

Don't forget Sonic Farm, Wounded Paw and Solid Gold FX all of which sound better when an F-Bass BN-5 is played through them.
