Agreed, on both points. Bobby is being helpful to the TB "community", as well as running "damage control" - more like PR for Peavey.

He stated this is more than a "me too" offering, which would have been okay too.

I had a deadline for buying a new rig last May when my new band started gigging. Had the MiniMEGA been on the market at that time, it would have been a contender for my cash.

I'm still curious and tempted to buy one, but .....

Also, when are we going to hear more about those new cabinets?

Footswitch is not included. It's a 5 button MIDI footswitch that works with a few other Peavey products. The carry bag included with the amp has a side pouch for it though.

The amp may be used with 3rd party MIDI controllers. You can also use an effects processor with MIDI capability to switch amp functions in and out as part of preset patches. The manual has MIDI programming data.

Footswitchable functions are crunch (overdrive), compressor, effects loop bypass, kosmos (bass enhancement), and mute.

Hey question on the "crunch". Is the OD an on/off proposition or can you control the amount with the gain when the crunch is engaged? Is it blended in any way with a clean signal so fundamental is retained? Thanks again for coming in here and answering questions.

I am very interested in this amp... There are many choices out there right now.. But this one seems by spec to have the headroom that many are looking for.. Myself included.
Peavey sent me a TL5 years ago while i was on a certain tour..i was playing spectors, pedullas and a fodera. .And the TL5 was used more than those basses. .It was that good... . I still have it.. What a great bass it is.
I hope this amp is equally as surprizing.. .

Hey question on the "crunch". Is the OD an on/off proposition or can you control the amount with the gain when the crunch is engaged? Is it blended in any way with a clean signal so fundamental is retained?

The gain of the OD depends on the pre gain control. The circuit is set up so that the pre gain setting results in a good volume match between clean and OD. The OD signal is blended with a clean signal.

One tip I'll throw out there is that the high mid eq is very useful for setting the tone or character of the OD. For example, I use different types of overdrive sounds for different songs/bands. Sometimes I'm going for a classic Black Sabbath grind type of tone, and sometimes I'm going for a more modern picked Greenday gritty type of tone. What I do is apply a little boost with the high mid gain control by setting it to about 1 or 2 o'clock, and then use the frequency adjust ring to voice the overdrive like I want.

If we didn't have a short work week because of T-giving, I'm sure they'd be shipping out to retailers this week. I went over today to check progress and it looked like they were half way through with the entire checkout of the shipment.

Since you're going to make Bobby stop and read this, and then he has to spend the time to respond to your question, your amp won't be available until after New Years, now. :woot:
