I'm not sure why that would matter. If I were using headphones instead of a cab, I'd still want to not get a *pop* when I plug/unplug the cable from my MP3 player.

But, I am curious about the usage. How many folks that have a mM are using the headphone out?

I have had a micro head (Promethean) for something like 5 years now. I use the Aux In a LOT. I use it for my personal practice and I often use it at band rehearsals so the whole band can hear a song we want to play. I have never used the headphone out. The Aux In and a cab with a tweeter is kind of like having my own little personal/portable PA system.

I can see the utility of the aux in with the speaker engaged, much as you are doing. But, with regard to my comment about headphones, I most commonly use the aux in & headphone option when I want to practice and the wife and kids are asleep. And when I do, I generally do all the plugging in and un-plugging when the cans are not on my ears. Hence, my comment, above.

But I definitely get your point, as well. :thumbsup:

I use a Roland cube for headphone practice. It mutes the speaker when headphones are plugged in but the aux isn't muted with the volume knob so it does the same thing.

I'm totally digging the mm at the gig but don't use it for private practice for reasons I won't get into. :bag::D;)

I totally understand that. It's only an (minor nit!) issue because the Aux In is on the back. So, when I sit down to practice, if I need to unplug quickly (e.g. phone call comes in), unplugging from the phone is right there. And doesn't require me to unplug two things. I just unplug the phone and answer it. Plus, it's more convenient to leave the cable plugged into the back of the amp between practice sessions and just plug/unplug my phone.

It's a very, VERY minor nit. I'm just saying that for MY uses, having the Mute button actually mute everything would be better. Not a requirement. Not a HUGE improvement. Just better. For me.

My Promethean has the Aux In on the front and the Mute mutes everything. Comparing the two, that aspect of it works better, for ME, on the Promethean.

I prolly need to call SW and ask them or go back and search in this thread; but in the interim. What's the purpose of the write in labels on the 5 button foot switch? Aren't the buttons pre-programmed as to what features they will operate and in a fixed order?

Or can one set which of the 5 remote feature options each button will effect in a random order? Not a real big deal, just wondering.

I recivied my mini mega 2 weeks ago.. Runnin it through a headliner 4-10 and a headliner 115. I still have my original peavey century musician 200 watt head running through a 1810 peavey black widow cabinet from 1979... Was used as a desk for 30 years last December I started playing again brushed it off... Plugged it in and still sounds great..

Well ..i had reservations...but I pulled the trigger on a brand new Peavey MiniMega ...Dead ON Arrival...i knew better..ive sold every other bass head i have..momma said i had to in order to buy the new one..i knew better than to buy Peavey junk..i knew it i knew it... i have a gig on saturday and sunday...i cant believe this..

Thanks nutdog. The Minimega seems to be in a size and weight class of its own. It doesn't quality as a micro maybe mini, but 10 1/2 x 11 1/2 and 9.5 pounds puts it in between old school amps and new micros. I have the MiniMax and it's also a bit larger than the rest of the 500-800 watt heads. I like it but have a couple issues with it I'm trying to iron out before it calls my place home....

LOL it's a ruse. Guitarists always have an agenda. And it usually involves 1. more volume and 2. more bassy than the bass player. LOL
I sincerely hope he's seen the error of his ways and drops into both the tone and volume pocket where he belongs in the mix....
