The review says the fan will turn on when its needed, then turn off. Mine certainly doesn't work that way - its on all the time. The speed does seem to vary over time though, but it is always running.

Is this how everyone else's works?

And that's an awfully scooped tone in the review. Wonder if its the bass or the cab - the Mini Mega itself certainly doesn't have a scoop-y baked in tone.

Fan runs all the time on mine too, but like you said it seems to cycle up as the head heats up.
No I'm happy with the amount this head can push the mids on my P especially compared to the Hartke I was running before.

Oh man. Coming from a Hartke, the tone shaping options on a Mini Mega must seems like science fiction!

The Hartke's baxandall EQ basically lets you choose between flat-ish at the extreme settings to varying degrees of mid scoop. Not the most flexible arrangement on earth.

You are correct, of course. Fender tone stack in those. Some people love them, but not very flexible at all for controlling mids.

Oh I agree. It has its place with guitar, but I dont find it so very useful for bass.

One question looking at the back of the amp...TRS balanced jack..is this like the TRS on my Peavey MKIV where if you use a Y cord you can hook up a effects unit to it??

I think you are thinking of an "insert" type of jack. That's not what this is. It's simply a 1/4" output in parallel with the XLR that can be used as a balanced or unbalanced send to another piece of gear.

Of course, you could do this with any series of amps.

Yes. The best way to do that would be to go from the effects send of the master to the effects return of the slave.

I have some upcoming shows that i will use one 4Ω cab and an 8Ω cab. Im going to try the mM slaving to another class D amp with the mM as master and see how it matches up..
